even amongst the thunder & lighting.
i am forever grateful for your smile
& the way you light up the night
when darkness feels way too close.
you swim inside my rib cage
& make still, the quaking & shaking of my life.
you renew my steps &
carve out new lines;
you go before me & behind me
& lead my mind.
i bend to your feet.
i bury my heart in the ground.
you raise it up & give me reason & sound.
